Re: Repaving of Wood Valley Dr
Date: 28 November, 2007
Recently the State performed a job on Wood Valley Drive in northern Wake
County which quite frankly has our neighborhood in an uproar. The job
performed was just tar and gravel instead of actual asphalt paving.
I am a resident of Wood Valley Drive and I am writing to ask your
assistance in restoring our road. The road in its current condition
(after the tar and gravel operation) is not conducive for residential
living and travel. You cannot walk, jog, or ride bikes on the new
surface due to the rough surface and loose gravel. I have to sweep the
bottom of my driveway every other day at a minimum to get gravel off it
that has been thrown up onto the concrete driveway surface by passing
vehicles. The surface still emits a large volume of dust (even after
several rains) and the dust has settled on our homes to the point where
the windows have dust buildup on them.
This type of surface simply is NOT suited for residential areas. Our
neighborhood would have much preferred to have our roads left as they
were!
I ask your assistance is working with Wood Valley residents to restore
our road surface to a hard, smooth surface so we can resume our outdoor
lifestyles and maintain our property values.
Please contact me with any questions you may have and please let us know
what we can work out to restore our neighborhood roads.
Thank You
