Easter Egg Hunt -- April 7
1:00 pm at the Wood Valley Swim and Racquet Club. The children are split into 3 groups; 0 thru preschool, Kindergarten and 1st grade, 2nd and 3rd grade. The Easter Bunny always makes a guest appearance and there are plenty of complementary cookies and drinks for all to enjoy. This event is hosted by the WVHOA.
Ice Cream Social and Open House -- TBD
Invite your family, friends, and neighbors to kick off the summer at the Swim and Racquet Club's Open House. Rain date is TBD.
Independence Day Celebration -- July 4
7:30am - 5K walk/run ... The race begins at the corner of Leafwood Registration is at 7:30 am and the race begins at 8:00 am. This event is hosted by the Swim and Racquet Club with an invitation to all Wood Valley homeowners and their guests.
9:45am - Parade Extravaganza... Complete with Fire Engine. begins at the corner of Treebark and Winding Wood at 9:45 am. Decorate and bring your bikes, buggies, wagons, cars, cats and dogs on a trip to the Watermelon Feast at the Swim and Racquet Club.
10:30am to 1:00pm - Adult Volleyball
12:00pm to 2:00pm - Sausage and Hot Dog Feast
9:30pm - Fireworks!... The Grand Finale to a fun day starts at 9:30pm. This is a professional show that is simulcasted to music. It cost is over $3,000. so please bring $10 per family to help defray the cost.
Neighborhood Yard Sale -- September 29
Dust off all those items in the attic that you never use so you can make room for all the newer stuff you will get that you will never use... We will provide balloons for you to hang on your mailbox, advertise in the news and observer, put out signs at the entranceways, and produce a map of active participants. If you would like to be included as a participant on the map, email your information to signup@woodvalley.org -- include at a minimum your street address. If you would also like to write a summary of your offerings, include that too. Please have your information emailed no later than September 20th to allow time for the creation of the map... The neighborhood yard sale is advertised to begin at 8:00am and go to Noon. If you should decide to open or close before or after these published times -- that is completely up to you... This event is hosted by the WVHOA.
Halloween Hot Dog Dinner -- October 31
Come to a scary good time and show off your costume. All Wood Valley homeowners and their guests are invited to have a complementary hot dog, cake and cookies before departing for Trick-or-Treating. The festivities begin at 6:00 pm. at the Swim and Racquet Club. This event is hosted by the WVHOA.
Luminaria -- December 15
Come to the Swim and Racquet Club between 9:00am and 3:00pm to pickup your candles and bags. The cost per household is $7.00. The official lighting time for the luminary candles is 6:00 pm. This event is hosted by the WV Garden and Social Club. Since this is NOT hosted by the WVHOA, please don't forget to contribute $7.00 per household to the WV Garden and Social Club!!
Visit from Santa -- TBA
From 1:00pm - 3:00pm during the Luminary distribution at the Swim and Racquet Club -- Santa will make a special visit. So put together your "Santa wish lists" and bring them with you to give to Santa personally. He will also be available for pictures, so be sure to bring your camera. This event is hosted by the WVHOA.
